Mami Diale welcomes Adam Brooke as new Netball SA CEO

Netball South Africa president Mami Diale has welcomed the appointment of Adam Brooke as the federation’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Brooke succeeds Modiegi Komane, whose contract ended in October last year.

Speaking to SABC Sport, Diale said Brooke’s mandate begins immediately, with a strong focus on reinforcing governance structures and driving the commercialisation of netball.

“We welcome the appointment of Mr Brooke. His mandate as CEO is to implement NSA strategies, including high performance, participation and grassroots development, and to help transform netball into a professional sport," said Diale.

"Most importantly, he must strengthen governance, commercialisation and secure sponsorship."

Diale explained that it was important for the new NSA executive to begin its four-year term with a new CEO, as they aim to rebuild and establish their own legacy.

“History and experience have taught us the importance of learning, rebuilding and restructuring. As new leadership, we wanted to start afresh and implement our own legacy,” she added.

She further highlighted key areas that require urgent attention to restore the federation’s financial stability.

“We need to maintain the high performance of our national teams, retain current sponsors and secure new sponsors for men’s netball. Capacity building for netball administrators is also a priority,” Diale concluded.
