Golden Arrows can't concede hat-trick to Royal AM - Vusi Vilakazi

Lamontville Golden Arrows co-coach Vusi Vilakazi says they will go all out in their Nedbank Last 16 clash against Royal AM on Saturday as they can't afford to lose for the third time to the same opposition in one season.

Arrows defeated Pretoria Callies 2-1 in their last 32 fixture at Princess Magogo stadium in February which has set up this third KZN derby between the two sides.

"They did a double against us, they defeated us at home and away so we are going all out. We can't afford to lose three times to the same team in one season. It's a difficult game but we are also assessing their weaknesses so we can capitalise on them," Vilakazi said.

The coach says winning against Royal AM will boost their confidence for their next league game against Moroka Swallows.

Abafana Besthende are amongst the teams in danger in the DStv Premiership, currently placed on the 12th position after winning two out of seven games since the beginning of 2023.

"Our main focus is to move to a decent position in the log because we deserve that. In order to achieve that we need to be motivated, we can't take cup games for granted. If we lose now against Royal AM we will go into the next game against Swallows with no confidence," he concluded.
