Mamelodi Sundowns bounced back from a disappointing draw away to Sekhukhune United at the weekend to thrash Stellenbosch 3-0 in a DStv Premiership clash played at Loftus Stadium last night.

Their goals came from Neo Maema, Peter Shalulile and debutant Marcelo Allende, the Chilean who was announced hours before kick-off and started from the bench.

Co-coach Rulani Mokwena says they were convincing.

"Good win, convincing win also against a very good side, Stellenbosch are very good side well coached with coach Steve [Barker].

œI am not saying that because we beat them but I think if you recall even after they beat us at Tuks, we paid them all their due credit.

œAnd again I have to say very difficult team, very quick on transition with [Jayden] Adams, [Junior] Mandieta, particularly [Fawaaz] Basadien when they went to the back three today" said Mokwena.

The reigning champions are now second on the table after five matches, a point behind Orlando Pirates - but with a game in hand. Mokwena singled out midfielder Teboho Mokwena saying last night he was œtactically probably the best player on the pitch. And although the newly signed Allande managed a debut goal, signaling he could have an immediate impact, Mokwena asks that he be given time.

œAllende, of course we are excited same thing with [Abubeker] Nassir but as I said also with [Abubeker] Nassir, Allende 23 years old, South American different environment, different style of play, different opposition, the league is a little bit different.

"So again I plea a lot of patience, lot of time he needs to get used to the culture of club, the expectations the way we do things here and then great potential but needs time for adaptation, needs time to adapt to the culture, to the way of working".

"I mean the food is different the way we speak Is different, the game is different so we need to be very patient with new players
