Dani Ceballos says Gavi tackle in El Clasico was a 'clear red'

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has joined the growing chorus of players who have criticised the refereeing in Sunday's El Clasico with Barcelona.

Football's biggest rivalry on the planet was as usual a fiery affair with Barcelona prevailing 2-1 winners thanks to Franck Kessie's 92nd-minute winner.

The two have had their run-ins in the past and on Sunday Gavi took Ceballos out off the ball. Ceballos and Gavi are from Andalusian areas very close to one another and both grew up Real Betis fans but the former has given his opinion on what the sanction should have been for his fellow Spanish midfielder.

"(Laughs), Well I think it's clear no, it's red?

"Because it's a play where he goes for me without the ball, the team was attacking. It's true that I got up a bit quickly, so de Burgos [Bengoetxea] didn't pay too much importance to it, but we have talked about it and we feel it's a clear red," Ceballos recognised.
