With the domestic programme going into a FIFA World Cup recess, Kaizer Chiefs is using this period to intensify its search for a striker, and SABC Sport has learnt that they are searching as far as wide as in Europe.

A Hungarian striker Balint Bajner(31), who has previously been at Borussia Dortmund, West Ham, and Ipswich has been linked with Amakhosi.

With the club's leading goal scorer in the league with six goals Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana out injured and also having been overreliance on him from the beginning of this season, Chiefs are looking for options in the second round of the season.

But Zwane says they are going through a search this time around and It™s expected that Chiefs will use this World Cup break to assess a number of strikers including Bajner, who hasn™t played competitive football since November last year in the Hungarian second division.

œWe still hunting but like I said before we avoiding a situation of just bringing players out of desperation," said Zwane.

"This time around we did our homework and look back as to how we brought the players and the way we want to play, the way we want to play even in future because the game is evolving we do not only think about now we trying by all means to make sure right now that when we bring the player, we bring the player that will come in and add value so we scrutinize everything, we go deeper and deeper.

Chiefs are not expected to be making a lot of changes in the upcoming transfer window but there could be a few players who could make the way like Austin Dube and others who could go on loan. Zwane reiterates that the type of players they are looking at bringing in, would have to meet some standards of the club, on and off the field.

œWe wanna know about the players attitude off the field, on the field, where does he come from, the families and all those things they count a lot in helping a player to come in and perform and give his best all the time, because Kaizer Chiefs is not an easy team, Zwane added.

œKaizer chiefs is a different beast all together if you are not strong mentally you are nit a string character sometimes with talent alone you never gonna survive so we need players who can cope under pressure.
