Zimbabwe paceman banned for two years from playing in Pakistan Super League

Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has been banned for two years from participating in the Pakistan Super League after pulling out of his contract with Islamabad United.

Muzarabani only had a verbal agreement with the franchise but had not yet signed on paper but backed out of the deal after securing a deal with Indian Premier League side Kolkata Knight Riders.

It is understood that the 29-year-old is earning four times as much as he would have if he had taken up his contract in Pakistan.

"The sanction serves as a necessary measure to safeguard the professional environment of the PSL," a Pakistan Super League statement said.

"The PSL remains dedicated to ensuring that the league remains a platform where contractual certainty is respected and where the actions of all players and agents reflect the prestige of the tournament.

"The two-year ban reflects the gravity of the breach."

Proteas paceman Corbin Bosch was handed a one-year ban by the Pakistan Super League last year after backing out of his deal with Peshawar Zalmi to sign for IPL side Mumbai Indians as an injury replacement.
