Luus opened the batting with Faye Tunnicliffe, but the latter didn’t last long at the crease before Wolvaardt came to the middle and shared a 176-run second wicket stand with Luus.
She says they knew exactly what their roles were, having chosen to bat first.
"I think it was definitely not planned, I think you know we had our blueprint of how we wanted to go about the innings. We felt the wicket played really well, a bit slow at some stages but other than that, I think the ball was coming on nicely,” Lulus said.
“And I think for the first 12 overs it was obviously a Laura show and I was just trying to feed her whenever I got the chance, trying to capitalise as well but I think it was one of those days where we wanted to hit it, it just went and Laura is obviously a world class player.
“Coming off the big bash where she's just been scoring runs, it's not surprising that she's just been flowing today."
Wolvaardt played one of the most explosive innings in T20 International history with 115 runs from 56 deliveries.
Her century off 52 was the fastest for South Africa, and led them to their highest total in the format of 220/2.
"Yeah, she's phenomenal, I don't know what she's eating at the moment or what she's doing but it's definitely work. I think it's awesome to have done it on Newlands, you know family is here as well so I think it would have made it extra special but we know the class Laura is, I think it's no surprise she's hitting through consecutive 100s,” she added.
“Hopefully, there are still five games in this series for her to really just break more records and it's actually scary to think what she can do."
