Proteas Women beat Zimbabwe by 80 runs in dominant T20 performance

The visitors posted 205/4 from their 20 overs, with Miane Smit providing the innings' standout performance. The batter struck 102 from 59 deliveries, hitting 15 fours and one six. She reached her century from 58 balls after bringing up her fifty in 37 deliveries.

Smit initially shared a 50-run opening stand with Anneke Bosch from 40 balls, although Bosch departed with South Africa on 74/1 in the ninth over.

Smit then combined with Annerie Dercksen to add another 50 from only 27 deliveries, helping South Africa surge beyond 150 before the 16-over mark.

Dercksen was dismissed at 136/2, followed by Kayla Reyneke at 168/3. Smit eventually fell for 102 in the final over of the 18th, with the score at 195/4, before South Africa closed on 205/4.

Zimbabwe's chase never developed momentum. They lost two wickets during the powerplay while reaching only 27 runs, and took 9.4 overs to reach 50. Their total eventually passed 100 in the 18th over before they finished on 125/5.
