Karabo Meso relieved to hit milestone as Proteas Women seal T20I series

Meso hit 50 not out as they ended with 200/1 in their 20 overs in the third match in Bulawayo, and eventually secured an 80-run win to go 3-0 up against the Women Chevrons.

She revealed that she’s been hard at work to improve her batting and contribute more to the team.

"It still feels surreal. Every time I think about it, I get goosebumps. I think everybody saw when I hit the boundary; I got goosebumps. It really feels special for me and for the team. I've been working hard on my batting over the last year; it feels really special that all the hard work I'm putting in is showing in the middle," said Meso

Meso was with the accomplished Laura Wolvaardt the whole time at the crease, as the skipper herself notched up a career-best 126* in the match.

The teenager detailed how they went about their innings in the middle. A special mention also goes to all-rounder Annerie Dercksen, who recorded her maiden five-wicket haul for just 15 runs conceded.

While Meso admits that she was due the milestone, she says she didn’t put any pressure on herself on this tour to get there. She added that she has no particular preference in positions within the batting order, having batted at number three in this match.
