Proteas paceman Kagiso Rabada named in ICC Test team of the year

Proteas fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has been named in the International Cricket Council's (ICC's) Test team of the year for 2022.

Rabada and Australia spinner Nathan Lyon had an equal number of wickets (47) last year, but the Proteas paceman accomplished the feat in just nine matches, while the Aussie took 11 games to get there.

The 27-year-old Rabada's 47 scalps came at an average of 22.25 while he now has 268 wickets in 58 Test matches in his career.

England trio Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow and James Anderson were also included in the global XI while Lyon's teammates Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne and Pat Cummins also made the cut.

The team is completed by West Indies opening batter Kraigg Brathwaite, Pakistan captain Babar Azam and India wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.
