Mohammed Siraj withdrawn from India T20 squad due to workload management

Mohammed Siraj has been withdrawn from India's squad for the upcoming tours to Ireland and England, with the fast bowler being rested to manage his workload.

Siraj played 17 matches for Gujarat Titans in the IPL and was also part of India's team that beat Afghanistan by an innings and 300 runs in a one-off Test match.

"Following discussions between the BCCI Medical Team and the Team Management, Siraj has been advised a period of rest as part of his workload management programme," the BCCI said in a release.

"The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure adequate recovery ahead of a long international season."

Siraj's Gujarat Titans teammate Prasidh Krishna has been added to India's T20 squad that will two games against Ireland in Belfast later this month followed by five matches in England early next month.

Prasidh was also included in India's squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series at home against Afghanistan that starts on Saturday.
