The win also ensured a second ODI series win in as many weeks with one match to spare, after South Africa outclassed Australia Down Under last month.
Breetzke missed the first match on Tuesday with a hamstring strain, but returned to the team with a match-winning 85 off 77 balls, and says Conrad’s leadership, plus the World Test Championship win three month ago, has made the team a lot more confident.
"I think it starts at the top with Shukri Conrad, I think the sort of selections he's making and the direction he's wanting to go with the team, he's very clear on what he wants and there's no sort of grey area," said Breetzke.
"So guys are feeling really comfortable where they are and they know where they stand, so I think that's to start, and then winning that Test Championship final has just bred another sort of confidence in this change room, so it's good."
Despite contributing just four runs with the bat, Breetzke described captain Temba Bavuma as a genius, and declared that they are lucky to have him leading the team.
"He's very softly spoken, but to be honest, I was just watching him on the field today, going about his business in captaining – he's a genius in his decision-making, and I learnt so much today from the decisions he was making," he added.
"He doesn't talk a lot, but he sort of leads with his actions and we're lucky to have him."
