The Proteas secured a spot in the semis - after the game between New Zealand and Pakistan was abandoned because of rain in Colombo.
With eight points from five matches, the Proteas can not be caught by the White Ferns, who would still trail them on number of wins, even if they do win their final two group stage matches.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Meso adds that it has been a long but rewarding journey for the senior national team.
"Like I don't even have words, just a lot of emotions for everyone, let me just say that. First semis in the ODI World Cup which is really amazing for us. As a youngster, I've been in T20 semis, under19 but this one really means a lot to me and the team. It's quite a long journey and a good journey for everyone in the team," Meso said.
The Proteas have won four out of five games so far leading them to their third World Cup semifinal.
Meso says she is happy that they managed to silence critics after losing their opening match to England.
"I would say, obviously the team, people saying the turning point from the first game, England and look at us qualifying for the semis. I'd probably say, if you look at it, at a bigger picture people would have never thought that we're gonna qualify for the semis. It takes grit, we've grafted so hard to earn the spot for the semis," she added.
Meso adds that the turning point after their defeat to the English was for them to keep to basics and play their normal cricket.
"Obviously we are gonna approach it like any other game, you know like waking up, doing our same routines, being present, just doing our skills, taking that point also to the next game."
