IPL: Yashasvi Jaiswal on fire as Rajasthan Royals take down Mumbai Indians

Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed an unbeaten 77 from just 32 balls as Rajasthan Royals beat Mumbai Indians by 27 runs in their IPL encounter that was reduced to 11 overs because of rain.

After being sent into bat at the toss, Jaiswal and teenage opening partner Vaibhav Sooryavanshi immediately took the attack to the Mumbai bowlers.

The 15-year-old Sooryavanshi struck an enterprising 39 from 14 deliveries in an opening partnership that worth 80 that came in just five overs.

Dhruv Jurel (2) lost his wicket cheaply after the opening burst but Royals captain Riyan Parag contributed 20 from 10 balls to seee his team post 150-3 in their innings.

Mumbai then lost wickets at regular intervals in the run-chase as they tried to keep up with the required-rate of more than 13 runs to the over.

Proteas fast bowler Nandre Burger was good for his figures of 2-21 in his two overs while Sandeep Sharma and spinner Ravi Bishnoi also picked up two scalps apiece.

Mumbai eventually finished the innings on 123-9 in their 11 overs with Naman Dhir and Sherfane Rutherford top-scoring with 25.
