IPL: Finn Allen smashes century as KKR storm to fourth consecutive win

New Zealand international Finn Allen smashed an unbeaten century to help Kolkata Knight Riders comfortably chase down a target of 143 to thrash Delhi Capitals by eight wickets in their IPL clash.

It was a fourth consecutive victory for the Knight Riders this season as they now leapfrog their opponents in seventh position in the IPL table.

After electing to bowl first at the toss, the Knight Riders restricted the home team to a total of 142-8 in their 20 overs with seamer Kartik Tyagi taking 2-25 in four overs.

The Capitals got off to a quick start when opening pair Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul put on 49 inside the first five overs, but then wheels came off.

The home side lost wickets at regular intervals with Sri Lanka international Pathum Nissanka going on to top-score with 50 from 29 balls.

Ashutosh Sharma gave the innings a late boost with 39 off 28 deliveries as the Capitals struggled to get over the 140-run mark.

The Knight Riders were then reduced to 31-2 in four overs of the run-chase but Allen then took over, ending on exactly 100 not out from 47 balls.

Cameron Green was at the other end enjoying the batting show from the Kiwi and finished on 33 not out as the game ended with more than five overs to spare.
