Dew factor expected to play big role in Proteas final ODI against India

Proteas batter Matthew Breetzke expects the weather conditions to decide the direction of the third and final ODI match between them and India, set to take place in Visakhapatnam tomorrow.

The morning dew has been a big factor during their tour of India, and Breetzke believes winning the toss and electing to bowl first in the first two games has been beneficial to them.

Although they lost the first ODI, they came back with a decent batting display to chase down a massive 358 in New Raipur and level the series at 1-1.

"It's going to be an interesting game after seeing how the dew has played a big part. It's been really nice batting second, but if we bat first, we will come up with the best plan to go about our business."

He says their batting order has a good balance of batsmanship and power hitting, which helps them adjust to different game situations.

While opener Aiden Markram top scored with 110 in the last match, Breetzke was second best with his 68 on their way to a four-wicket win.

He also praised the likes of Corbin Bosch and Marco Jansen for their batting displays down the order, and says it provides comfort to the top order knowing there’s good hitters at the bottom.

With the series now delicately poised, the match on Saturday is for all the spoils and Breetzke knows the hosts will bring everything they have to avoid another loss at home.

"We are going to have to play really good cricket because we know they are going to be really hungry to win this must-win game."
