CSA announce Proteas Women to host India in T20I series in April

The Proteas Women will host India in a five-match T20I series in April, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has confirmed.

The series will get underway with two fixtures at Kingsmead Stadium in Durban on 17 and 19 April, followed by two matches at the Wanderers on 22 and 25 April.

The series will conclude with the fifth and final T20I at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on 27 April.

The series will South Africa's final assignment ahead of the T20 World Cup that will take place in England from 12 June.

At the global tournament, the Proteas Women have been drawn in Group 1 alongside Australia, Pakistan, India and two teams from the qualifiers.

Enoch Nkwe, CSA director of national teams and high performance, said: "Facing a team of Indiaâ™s quality so close to a World Cup is exactly what the Proteas Women need at this stage of the preparation.

"It gives them an opportunity to test themselves against a top-level opponent, fine-tune their combinations and ensure they are executing their plans under pressure.

"This series will play a key role in sharpening the teamâ™s readiness ahead of the T20 World Cup."
