Australia great Matthew Hayden has been appointed as batting coach for Indian Premier League (IPL) side Gujarat Titans ahead of the upcoming season.

Hayden, who has previously worked with Pakistan, will join a Gujarat coaching staff that includes Ashish Nehra, Vikram Solanki and Parthiv Patel.

Gujarat director of cricket Solanki said: "His experience at the highest level, coupled with his ability to mentor emerging talent, will be instrumental in shaping our batting identity for the seasons ahead."

Hayden added: "Good batting applies pressure. Great batting owns the game. That's the standard we want to set at Gujarat Titans."

A former opener for the Aussies, Hayden is a two-time ODI World Cup winner and was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame last year.

He also played in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings and won the tournament in 2010 and finished as the IPL's leading run-scorer in 2009.

Gujarat Titans will be captained by Shubman Gill and will be looking to go one better this season after finishing as runners-up in 2025.
