Khenyeza, who has been solely in charge of the team since Vusumuzi Vilakazi resigned in September last year, has found his side free fall from third position to 11th on the DStv Premiership table.

Following their latest 1-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium, Khenyeza was adamant he takes full responsibility for the grave situation they're faced with.

"In terms of games lost, we've lost 11 games in a row, but if you see those games, it's the same challenges that we faced again – dominating the game, like the game of last week [against Sekhukhune United], they only scored in the last minute," defended Khenyeza.

"But from my side, as a coach, we don't blame our players. I will take the bullets for them, and losing 11 games in a row should go straight to me, not to the players."

At most other clubs Premier Soccer League clubs, a coach would almost certainly have been fired under the current circumstances, but Khanyeza insisted the Arrows management is very understanding of what they're going through.

"I think the management are very supportive. They are behind us all the time, they make sure they come to training and encourage us, they don't just look at the results but they look overall," he added.

"I think as you saw even in this game we played, we pushed, we didn't convert our chances – it's not like we are a team that doesn't even perform.

"But at the end of the day, as you said, results are very important, and I won't lie, management are all very supportive in the situation we're in because all of us are in this."
