AFCON: Wilfried Zaha omitted from Ivory Coast squad

Wilfried Zaha has been omitted from the Ivory Coast team for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

The 31-year-old Galatasaray striker has 31 caps for the Elephants and five goals.

But he only played twice for his national team since the start of the year.

His name was absent from the list when head coach Jean-Louis Gasset named his final 23-man squad.

English-based players who have beeb included in the squad are Nottingham Forest trio Willy Boly, Ibrahim Sangare, and Serge Aurier, as well as Brighton and Hove Albion striker Simon Adingra and Hull City's Jean Michael Seri.

Ivory Coast are in Group A at AFCON where they will face Guinea-Bissau, Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
