With eight games remaining, the midfielder insists a top eight finish and silverware are still within reach after a strong first round.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s semifinal against Milford FC, Mbunjana said their targets remain firmly in sight.
"No, you can't say we are not doing well this season per se because we had a good first round of the season and now the past six games, we haven't had much joy in terms of collecting points but we are still on the right track to achieve our goals to be in the MTN8,” Mbunjana said.
“So, we are on the right track, I can't really say that we are not having a good season compared to last season, no. We are on the right track, we know our goals, we know what we want to achieve and we know the plans that we have to achieve those goals."
There is no doubt their cup run has brought them closer to a major trophy having also eliminated Mamelodi Sundowns along the way.
Mbunjana wants to emulate the class of 2019.
"It's a huge moment for us because the team last won this cup in 2019 and this is a wonderful opportunity for us to do the same. So, we are focused on that, our mind is not anywhere else,” he added.
“It's in the cup competition in the semi-finals and the preparations are going well and we want to do well in the competition and go as far as winning it."
