TS Galaxy coach confident ahead of Orlando Pirates showdown

TS Galaxy coach Adnan Beganovic says his side are relishing the challenge of facing an in-form Orlando Pirates in Tuesday night’s Betway Premiership clash at Orlando Stadium.

Both teams are on a good run of form – separated by just a point on the log, though the Buccaneers have a game in hand.

Speaking to SABC Sport ahead of the encounter, Beganovic acknowledged the distinctive style Abdeslam Ouaddou’s charges have developed, but maintained Galaxy have what it takes to compete.

"Orlando Pirates play a little bit different now because in the previous time with their coach, I think they played more possession-based, wanting to keep the ball, and now it's a little bit more direct," said Beganovic.

"They make a couple of passes and play straight to the wingers and straight to the strikers, and they want to have overload on the sides with the full-backs.

"I think if we just close that, if you understand how we need to switch inside, especially with defenders, I think we can have success."

Beganovic has urged his players to hold their nerve at a venue that’s now become an intimidating fortress for the hosts.

"Like every game, we just go game by game this season and then, for this game, I always say we can't lose anything, but we can get everything if we always stay compact, fight for second balls and be at 100 if we want to take something from that stadium," he added.

"Because it's so tough to play against Orlando in Soweto, but I say again, if we want to beat Orlando, we need to run more, fight more and stay calm for the whole 90 minutes, and I think that is key."
