Trent Alexander-Arnold hails Senegal star Sadio Mane as the 'perfect attacker'

Trent Alexander-Arnold has hailed former Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane as the "perfect attacker", saying the Senegal star is "similar to Cristiano Ronaldo".

The England international played alongside Mane at the English Premier League giants between 2016 and 2022 as the Reds won six major trophies under Jurgen Klopp.

Mane netted 120 goals in 269 matches and formed part of a fearsome three-pronged attack that included Egypt captain Mohamed Salah and Brazil international Roberto Firmino.

Speaking to Gary Neville on the The Overlap, Alexander-Arnold said: "Sadio Mane is the one player that I played with that I've always thought.

"I'm thankful that I didn't have to play against him. He was the perfect attacker, he had everything.

"As an athlete, he was similar to Cristiano Ronaldo - he had the jump, was fast, could finish both feet, and was a threat at all times."

Mane is currently on the books of Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr and is now a teammate of Portuguese football icon Ronaldo.
