The defeat to the runaway title defenders is their third on the spin, and brings their winless streak to five games since beating AmaZulu 2-1 in March.
However, with 30 points on the board already, the club has secured their top-flight status for the 2025/26 campaign, and September says they’ll use their remaining two games to see where they need to tighten up.
"Start building for next season, start using players that you want to have or to look at for next season and get the best out of the two games. Playing Marumo [Gallants] away, we have Sundowns coming at home, so we need to be as professional as we can be to finish this season on a good note,” September said.
“So, yeah, looking forward to it. Top eight, if it's possible, we have two games, if we get four points out of the two games, then it's possible."
The former SuperSport United captain lauded his younger players for having carried the club in the second half of the season, and says they have complemented each other well with the more experienced campaigners. He says they will get reinforcements where needed.
"Yeah, no, for sure, we will need to refresh as well but I feel like the group, we've got a good group, young and a bit old, so a good mixture. Especially the way the younger ones came in, in the second part of the season,” the coach added.
“It's really motivating and encouraging for us as a technical team and the football club. So, we just need to beef up and go into the market and look for better quality if we want to get a good season, next season."
September took over from Kwanele Kopo on the last day of 2024, and along with Mabhuti Khenyeza steered the Chilli Boys to a respectable position on the log.
