Thabo Moloisane focused on closing top-three gap ahead of Golden Arrows clash

Chiefs are away to Golden Arrows at a neutral venue at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga on Sunday. 

Chiefs were held to a 1-1 draw by Polokwane City last week, and they dropped points in that game, which saw them being overtaken on the third spot by AmaZulu and dropped down to fourth. 

Bafana Bafana defender Moloisane’s main focus is managing the gap at the top.

"It's gonna be extremely important for us to get three points, we've played two draws in games that we should have won and especially now that we are going to the FIFA break,” Moloisane said. 

“It will be extremely important for us to continue the FIFA break with three points and it will take a bit of pressure off our shoulders knowing that we are keeping up with the teams that are on top of the league."

Chiefs are also coming to this game minus the services of their captain, Brandon Petersen, and number one goalkeeper, who got injured at training earlier this week. But Moloisane says in Bruce Bvuma and Renaldo Leaner, they’ve got capable replacements.

"Firstly, I just wish for Biza for him to get well soon and secondly, I think in the goalkeeping department we have capable guys, Bruce [Bvuma] is there, Renaldo [Leaner] is there as well. So, we are not panicking at all,” he added. 

“One goal is to make sure that the team wins and to make sure that we support one another. So, we are definitely not panicking at all, everyone is just as capable as the other."
