Thabo Moloisane addresses future amid interest from PSL big three

Stellenbosch FC defender Thabo Moloisane has acknowledged a lot of interest in his services but is playing the waiting game until there’s clarity on his future.

Moloisane, who had a stellar 2024/2025 season with Stellies and also broke into the Bafana Bafana squad, has been heavily linked with the Premier Soccer League’s big three – Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

The 26-year-old was a reliable and ever-present feature in coach Steve Barker’s squad, playing a total of 46 matches across domestic and continental competitions, and is happy that his hard work is finally being recognised.

"I think when you have interest in your name, it shows you're doing well and you're playing well – and I'm just happy that my work is finally showing," said Moloisane.

"I've prayed for days when I'm a Bafana Bafana player, and I try by all means to remain as consistent as I can, and at the moment it's just to continue doing what I can and God is in control, so we'll see."

Stellies have proven they will not hold players back from moving to greener pastures, as evidenced by the likes of Iqraam Rayners, Ashley Du Preez, Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Deano van Rooyen and Jayden Adams.

Moloisane is waiting for the right move at the right time.

"I think, like I said, God is in control. For me, I know the right time, everything that has happened in my career has always come at the right time," he added.

"So I'm just waiting for that – I understand sometimes football is a short career, but at the same time, I also believe that God will give me the right opportunity that will change my life at the right time. God is in control, we'll see."
