Sekhukhune United were looking to go top of the Betway Premiership with a victory over the lowly Siwelele, but were denied by a goal from Siviwe Magidigidi and a penalty save from Goss.
The start of the match was delayed due to lightning, as was the start of the second half. Unfortunately, the players on the pitch could not reproduce the action that was above them, as there were scant chances.
Siwelele were close to opening the scoring via Tebogo Potsane but drew a sharp save from Sekhukhune gloveman Manuel Sapunga. Veteran striker Bradley Grobler then scored, but the goal was disallowed following an offside call.
Sekhukhune had their next best chance in the second stanza. Keletso Makgalwa provided the cross and Tshepo Mashiloane headed the ball goalward, but goalkeeper Ricardo Goss was there for the block.
Magidigidi provided the spark in the 74th minute. Siwelele replacement Aphiew Baliti teed up the forward, who fired the ball home.
There was some late drama as Sekhukhune's Vuya Letlapa was brought down in the box by Yanda Mfolozi. However, gloveman Goss pulled off a superlative save to deny Makglwa from the penalty spot.
