Siwelele rethink coaching plans as Godfrey Mosoetsa stays in charge

Seema was placed on ice following a string of poor results, and negotiations over his settlement and departure from the club could still be ongoing.

Siwelele had Alexander Lafitte on their shortlist as they assessed their options, but there has since been a change of heart, with the club reconsidering their preferred candidate.

Mosoetsa took charge of the team’s final two matches before the FIFA break, overseeing a 3-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns and a 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows.

The coach, who is also in charge of Siwelele’s Diski Challenge side, publicly suggested that he was not interested in taking the senior job on a permanent basis.

However, his continued presence on the bench suggests the club could be leaning towards extending his interim spell.

Siwelele return to Betway Premiership action on October 18 when they host Polokwane City at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Mangaung, and current indications are that Mosoetsa will be in the dugout for that fixture.

That could change if the club makes a breakthrough during the lengthy recess, which provides Siwelele with additional time to finalise their search.

For now, Mosoetsa appears set to remain at the helm as the club weighs its next move and looks to steady a team that has endured a difficult start to the campaign.
