SABC Sport can reveal that Chippa United have recalled striker Somila Ntsundwana following the departure of coach Sinethemba Badela.
The former Richards Bay forward had initially agreed to join the Chilli Boys on a free transfer before Badela's appointment.
However, once the now-former coach took charge, the deal was put on hold.
As reported by SABC Sport last week, Chippa and their 34-year-old mentor parted ways just two matches into the Betway Premiership season amid tensions with sporting director Sinesipho Mali.
Sources indicate the two clashed over recruitment policies, key transfers, and the overall direction of the Gqeberha-based club.
Chippa will host TS Galaxy in East London tonight, with assistant coach Musa Nyatama in charge while Badela's exit is being formalized.
What has moved swiftly, however, is the club's U-turn on Ntsundwana, who is set to rejoin the team this week.
The striker, who hails from Motherwell in the Eastern Cape, made more than 90 appearances for Richards Bay over four years.
Although not prolific in front of goal—having often played out wide—his pace remains his biggest weapon. Ntsundwana is expected to start training later this week but will need time to regain match fitness, having been without a club since leaving Richards Bay at the end of May.
