The Namibian was thrown into the deep end when his first match in charge came against reigning Betway Premiership champions Orlando Pirates before the FIFA international break, with Gallants suffering a 2-0 defeat.
Gallants will return to league action away to Sekhukhune United on Saturday evening, and Kanalelo acknowledges he has plenty of work to do.
"What it comes to this job, whether you are at the top, middle, or the bottom there will always be pressure no matter what. This is the kind of pressure we have to deal with because it comes with the territory."
The coach added that the PSL standard has improved massively since his days as a goalkeeper at Sundowns. What hasn’t changed in Kanalelo’s views is the ambition of his former club Sundowns.
The Gallants coach also cleared the air on the decision to substitute talisman Katlego Otladisa after just 22 minutes against Pirates.
"People are speculating about the relationship but it's a football issue, because it's all about the tactical aspect of the game and the effectiveness of the team. So if a player is not doing what we want then our tactical operation will not work because each player is there for a specific reason. I was not happy with Otladisa defensively," explained the coach.
