Report: Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz opts for Morocco over Spain

Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz has reportedly chosen to represent Morocco over Spain on the international stage.

Diaz has had a decent return to Real after a three-year loan at AC Milan. The 24-year-old has scored eight goals for the LaLiga giants so far this season, although he is yet to hold down a starting berth.

Born in Spain to a Moroccan father and Spanish mother, Diaz's international future has been up for speculation for a while now. Diaz represented Spain at under 21 level but is reportedly fed up with waiting for a callup from La Roja boss Luis de la Fuente to the senior national side.

Another factor in Diaz opting for the Atlas Lions is their brilliant run to the World Cup semifinals - the first time an African country has made the last four of the global showpiece.
