Speaking during the match day minus one press conference from the match venue—30th June Stadium, Jurcic had been following Pirates’ good run on the road, including three wins in North Africa in this campaign.
The Croatian-born coach expects the Buccaneers to approach this game with a low block and unleash their pace in transitions.
“I think they won’t really change anything because they play away all the time, the same. Maybe they will change formation, they played with five last time and maybe wait for our mistake in the counterattack. We are now in good form [it’s after] Ramadan,” Jurcic said.
Wins against CR Belouizdad, MC Alger and Al Ahly in North Africa can’t be ignored, but JurÄiÄ believes that this is their moment too.
“We are expecting a lot from Orlando Pirates, a very good team but we have our quality. They have good results away but here in our pitch we are very dangerous, we are very good. As much as we have respect for Orlando Pirates but Pyramids is great,” he added.
Pyramids have equally had a good run at home in the Champions League this season, having won all their matches at the 30th June stadium, including a 4-1 win in the first leg of the quarterfinal against Moroccan giants ASFAR.
