Puleng Marema pays tribute to Phuti Mohafe as new era begins at Rise and Shine

Mohafe recently ended his lengthy association with Rise and Shine to join Marumo Gallants, saying he was ready for a fresh challenge, with Moloto stepping into the role.

Speaking ahead of Polokwane City's MTN8 quarterfinal clash against Mamelodi Sundowns, Marema paid tribute to Mohafe's contribution while expressing confidence that the transition under Moloto will be a smooth one.

"We were not ready to see him leave the team but some of the things we don't have control over so to the new coach I think for me personally I worked with him before, I know him but I think for the new guys under him they've adjusted well under his system” Marema said.

“So, I think everyone now is ready to work with him. You know sometimes things happen, I didn't see it coming, I thought he was still going to continue working with us but some of the things we don't have control over so I wish him all the best and I think in a few weeks time I will meet him."

Marema also speaks highly of Moloto, a coach he has previously worked with. 

"Yeah, he's a very good coach but obviously now we have to adjust as quickly as possible because we used to have coach Phuti. Now, we have to adapt and adjust to his philosophy but like I said, personally I worked with him before, I know him and now I'm trying to get the other boys to adjust to his philosophy but other than that he's a very good coach,” he added.

“He's a coach who wants us to play football so we'll just do whatever he wants us to do, which is to play."
