Germany were held to a goalless draw by Greece, leaving Jurgen Klopp with just one win from his first four matches in charge, while Denmark condemned Wales to another defeat with a narrow victory in Cardiff.
Greece hold Germany as Klopp's struggles continue
Germany were unable to turn their dominance into goals as they drew 0-0 with Greece in Thessaloniki, leaving Jurgen Klopp with one victory from his first four matches in charge of the national team.
Greece started brightly, with Kostas Tsimikas delivering an excellent cross for Georgios Masouras, whose header forced Jonas Urbig into an early save.
Germany gradually took control, with Florian Wirtz, Derry Scherhant and Tom Bischof all testing the home defence. The visitors thought they had taken the lead in the 32nd minute when Jonathan Burkardt forced the ball home after a pass from Scherhant, but VAR ruled out the goal because of a handball by Bischof in the build-up.
Greece goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis continued to frustrate Germany, making important interventions to keep the sides level at half-time.
Germany maintained their pressure after the break, but clear opportunities became harder to find in a scrappy second half interrupted by fouls and stoppages.
Greece threatened late on when Manolis Saliakas delivered a fine cross for Masouras, who headed narrowly over the crossbar. Germany struggled to produce a decisive response, with Wirtz sending an effort over the goal before Philipp Treu delivered a dangerous ball into the area.
The draw extended Greece's impressive Nations League record, with just two defeats in their last 16 matches in the competition. However, their home form remains a concern, having failed to win five of their previous six matches on home soil.
Germany, meanwhile, remain third in Group A2 and face an uphill battle to reach the Nations League Finals.
Ramos strikes as Portugal eliminate Norway's hopes
Goncalo Ramos scored the decisive goal as Portugal beat Norway 2-1 to secure their place in the Nations League quarter-finals with two matches to spare.
The victory also extended Portugal's strong record against Norway, with the Selecao suffering just one defeat in their previous 13 meetings.
Portugal created the better chances during the opening stages, with Francisco Conceicao and Joao Felix both denied by determined Norwegian defending. Joao Cancelo also forced goalkeeper Egil Selvik into a fine save with a powerful strike.
Norway gradually found their rhythm, and Antonio Nusa came close with a curling effort that Diogo Costa tipped over the crossbar.
The breakthrough arrived in the 36th minute when Kristoffer Ajer produced a spectacular long-range strike, sending Martin Odegaard's pass into the top corner.
Portugal responded almost immediately. Nuno Mendes launched a long throw into the area, and Cancelo collected the ball before firing an outstanding effort past Selvik to level the score.
Both sides continued to threaten after the interval, with Bruno Fernandes and Cancelo going close for Portugal, while Erling Haaland dragged an effort wide at the other end.
Portugal eventually found the winner in the 79th minute. Felix controlled a square pass and laid the ball into the path of Ramos, who poked it over the line to put the hosts ahead.
The closing stages became more difficult for Portugal after Conceicao received two quick yellow cards and was sent off. However, the hosts defended their advantage to claim three important points.
Portugal now sit six points clear at the top of Group A4 and have extended their unbeaten home run to 12 matches. Norway, by contrast, have lost three consecutive games and remain bottom of the group.
Koopmeiners and Zirkzee fire Netherlands past Serbia
The Netherlands finished the international window with a 2-1 victory over Serbia in Eindhoven, extending Xavi's unbeaten start as head coach to four matches.
The Oranje made the stronger start, with Joey Veerman forcing goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic into an early save.
The breakthrough arrived shortly after the half-hour mark when Teun Koopmeiners curled a low free-kick towards goal. The ball evaded Virgil van Dijk's attempted touch and found the bottom corner to give the Netherlands the lead.
However, Koopmeiners was involved at the other end when Serbia equalised. Aleksa Terzic delivered an inviting cross, and Mihajlo Cvetkovic rose above the Juventus midfielder to guide a precise header beyond Bart Verbruggen.
Cvetkovic nearly scored again immediately after half-time, but his effort lacked accuracy. Serbia continued to threaten, forcing Verbruggen into important saves from Lazar Samardzic and Cvetkovic.
The Netherlands weathered the pressure before producing the decisive move with just under 20 minutes remaining.
Denzel Dumfries drove a low cross towards the far post, where Tijjani Reijnders set up Joshua Zirkzee for a simple finish. The goal was Zirkzee's first for the Netherlands in two years and ultimately proved decisive.
Serbia attempted to find another equaliser, but Verbruggen produced a late save to tip Nemanja Gudelj's dipping effort over the crossbar.
The Netherlands also had to manage the closing stages with 10 players after Micky van de Ven suffered an injury, but they held on for a valuable victory.
Xavi's first home win in charge moved the Netherlands to the top of Group A2, while Serbia remained bottom without a point.
Hojlund punishes Ward error as Denmark defeat Wales
Rasmus Hojlund scored from the penalty spot as Denmark beat Wales 1-0 in Cardiff, extending their winning run against the Welsh to five consecutive matches.
Wales started positively, with Ethan Ampadu sending an early effort wide, but Denmark gradually took control as Hojlund began to trouble the home defence.
The Manchester United striker tested goalkeeper Danny Ward, while Gustav Isaksen and Morten Hjulmand also threatened. Wales had opportunities of their own, with Sorba Thomas sending a free-kick straight at Mads Hermansen.
Denmark missed a promising chance before half-time when Oliver Provstgaard headed over from close range.
The visitors continued to apply pressure after the break, and Ward was forced into a good save to deny Hojlund following a cross from Andreas Skov Olsen.
Wales briefly threatened at the other end when Thomas delivered a cross that struck Lewis Koumas and forced Hermansen into action.
Ward then produced an excellent save to turn Isaksen's header onto the post, seemingly keeping Wales in the contest.
However, the goalkeeper's afternoon took a decisive turn when he made a costly mistake inside the penalty area. Ward gave the ball away to Isaksen before bringing down the Danish forward as he attempted to recover possession.
Hojlund stepped up and calmly sent Ward the wrong way from the spot to give Denmark the lead.
Wales pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages but could not find a breakthrough, leaving them with five defeats in their last eight matches across all competitions.
The result leaves Wales bottom of Group A4 with two matches remaining. Denmark moved into second place and strengthened their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals, although they will need to collect points against opponents other than Wales to secure their progress.
