Newcastle United turn to Morocco star Bilal El Khannouss

Newcastle United have reportedly turned their attention to Bilal El Khannouss as they look to bolster their attacking options before the summer transfer window closes.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, as reported by Morocco World News, the Premier League club have identified the Moroccan international as an alternative target after their efforts to sign Lille winger Matias Fernandez-Pardo failed to produce an agreement.

Newcastle had reportedly made a 60 million pound offer for Fernandez-Pardo as they stepped up their search for another attacking player.

El Khannouss has now emerged as a potential solution, with Stuttgart understood to be willing to consider his departure before the transfer deadline. The Bundesliga club are reportedly keen to raise funds from the sale of one of their most valuable players, despite the sporting impact his exit could have.

The 22-year-old had initially been reluctant to leave Stuttgart, with his preference reportedly being to remain in Germany and compete in the Champions League.

However, the situation has changed as Stuttgart push for a deal, while the prospect of moving to the Premier League could now tempt the Moroccan to consider a new challenge.

Newcastle could look to take advantage of the situation by making a late move for El Khannouss, who could offer Eddie Howe greater creativity and attacking quality as the club strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
