CAF have announced the unveiling ahead of the much anticipated CAF Champions League Final between recent Betway Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns and Egypt Premier League title chasers Pyramids FC.
According to the CAF Online, the new trophy is set be unveiled on Thursday, 22 May at the Total Energies offices in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The event is set to be attended by various African football legends and the two 2024/25 CAF Champions League finalists.
Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to add a second CAF star on their emblem and continue their unbeaten record against Pyramids whom they drew with at home and defeated in Egypt in their 2023 CAF Champions League Group A fixtures.
The unveiling of the new trophy and strategy is set to signify "a new bold and exciting chapter for African club football, as CAF continues to elevate the profile and image of CAF Interclub Competitions," according to CAF statement.
"Thursday's event builds on the recent partnership renewal between CAF and Total Energies, which saw the multi-energy company extending its partnership with CAF for a further four years, concluded CAF.
