Matobane Moshugi confident to challenge Sundowns in League clash

The Glamour Girls head into the second round of the league having suffered just two defeats in 14 matches and will be aiming to maintain their impressive form away from home. 

Speaking to SABC Sport, Moshugi acknowledged that the match will be decided by fine margins but believes Chiefs have the hunger to secure all three points.

"I think the game against Sundowns like I said is a game of fine margins, it's about who wants it the most, who digs deep for the win. We start training tomorrow, everyone is focused, you know, ready for the game, working hard, you know,” Moshugi said.

“To the fans, number one, I'd like to thank you for the consistent support you give us each and every weekend. This is the point where we need you the most, come out in numbers to support us and give us the extra motivation we need."

Amakhosazana return to league action full of confidence after securing third place at the 2026 Engen Knockout Challenge.

Moshugi says the team’s successful campaign has boosted belief within the squad, leaving them mentally strong ahead of Sunday’s fixture.

"Obviously the confidence is high because in the league we've been on a streak you know, the way we've been collecting three points every game and then we had the Engen recently also where we finished number three,” she added.

“Not obviously what we wanted but then I think with a newly formed team with the number of players we had, we did very well. So, I think we're on a streak but like I said I wanna keep it very humble because it's a very important game. 

“I think it needs level headed minds and just everyone with the same goal and mindset but the team is very high in confidence and I think we can take this one."
