Man Utd set to lose Patrick Dorgu for months due to injury

Manchester United have been dealt a significant injury setback after Patrick Dorgu was ruled out for an extended period with a torn hamstring.

According to a report by The Athletic, the Danish winger is expected to be sidelined for approximately ten weeks after scans confirmed the injury was more serious than initially feared.

United's first assessment during the match suggested Dorgu was suffering from cramp, but further examinations revealed the true extent of the damage.

The injury occurred during Sunday's clash against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, a match that ultimately ended in a morale-boosting victory for United.

Dorgu had been one of the standout performers, scoring a stunning long-range goal to give his side momentum.

However, around 30 minutes after finding the net, he was forced off after losing his balance while chasing a loose ball. Upon hitting the turf, Dorgu immediately felt discomfort in his hamstring and signalled that he could not continue.

He was replaced by Benjamin Sesko, while United went on to secure the win, continuing their upturn in form under interim manager Michael Carrick.

Since taking charge, Carrick has rejuvenated the squad, with Dorgu playing a key role on the left wing and providing both pace and directness in attack.

The timing of the injury is particularly unfortunate given Dorgu's growing influence in Carrick's system.

United are now likely to be without him until early April, with an estimated return pencilled in for the Premier League fixture against Leeds on 11 April at Old Trafford.
