Man Utd's Antony doesn't know what the future holds after Real Betis loan

Manchester United's Antony doesn't know what the future holds after his Real Betis loan stint ended in heartbreak last night.

Despite taking an early lead, Betis collapsed in the final 25 minutes, conceding four goals in a dramatic conclusion to their European campaign.

The Brazilian winger, on a straight loan from Manchester United since January, has been one of Betis' standout performers during the knockout stages, contributing four goals and three assists in eight appearances.

Overall, he registered an impressive nine goals and five assists in 26 matches across all competitions.

Antony, who joined United from Ajax in September 2022, has expressed how much he enjoyed his time in Seville, saying he was "very happy" at the club. His dynamic displays have not gone unnoticed, with Betis reportedly keen to re-sign him this summer.

However, the loan deal did not include a purchase option, and his long-term future remains unresolved.

"I don't what will happen in the future, only God knows," Antony told CBS Sports. "My work is playing and I'm doing that well.

"I have a lot of affection for Betis, for everyone but I have a contract with Man United and I don't know what's going to happen.

"Now I will go to the national team and then on holiday then we will see what happens in the future.

"I'm very happy here, everyone knows that but I have a contract."

The transfer window officially opens on Sunday, and Betis are expected to explore avenues to bring Antony back, though it remains to be seen whether Manchester United are open to further negotiations.

Antony's form in Spain may have reignited his value at Old Trafford, adding an extra layer of uncertainty ahead of the summer.
