Mamelodi Sundowns set to face Rulani Mokwena in CAFCL group stage

Mamelodi Sundowns will face Rulani Mokwena's MC Alger and Orlando Pirates' conqueror Saint-Eloi Lupopo in their CAF Champions League group after the draw was conducted on Monday.

Sudanese outfit Al Hilal complete Group C but all eyes will be on Mokwena when he faces his former club with his Algeria team.

Lupopo knocked out the Buccaneers on penalties in the preliminary round after a thrilling 6-6 draw over two legs and will now return to South Africa during the group stage.

Pirates' elimination means Sundowns will be the only South African side in the continent's biggest club tournament this season.

The top two sides in each of the four groups will progress to the quarter-finals.

Defending champions from Egypt, Pyramids FC, were drawn in Group A alongside RS Berkane, Rivers United and Power Dynamos.
