The three players picked up injuries while on national team duty during the FIFA break, with Modiba and Mokoena missing the second AFCON qualifier against Eritrea, while Aubaas was withdrawn early on in the same fixture.
Although Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane suggested the injuries were not serious, his Sundowns counterpart Miguel Cardoso remained tight-lipped when asked about their availability on Wednesday morning.
"We are completely aligned with the boys representing their countries and we are happy that they performed well, but it's important to understand that we will not risk any player."
Cardoso confirmed the players’ first interaction with the Sundowns medical staff was only on Tuesday afternoon with Bafana having only returned from Egypt that morning.
"Today we are going to see what the condition of the players is like because they only arrived back yesterday morning. So we will see how they react to our first intense examination ahead of the final on Saturday."
The Sundowns coach insisted they would not risk any players given their congested schedule this season beyond the MTN8 final.
Cardoso added that they used the international break to prepare to the best of their ability even though Sundowns had several players away representing their respective countries.
