Magesi secure fourth consecutive win with hard-fought win over TS Galaxy

Magesi FC extended their winning streak in the Betway Premiership to four matches with a determined 2-1 victory over TS Galaxy on Sunday afternoon.

Head coach Owen Da Gama made strategic adjustments to the side that defeated Stellenbosch FC, recalling Mcedisi Vandala, Samuel Darpoh, and Thabang Sibanyoni to the starting lineup. TS Galaxy, meanwhile, reinstated Lebone Seema, Sphesihle Maduna, and Kamogelo Sebelebele in response.

The home side opened the scoring in the 20th minute when John Mokone connected with a well-placed corner from Mzwandile Buthelezi, heading the ball past the goalkeeper to give Magesi the early advantage.

Galaxy sought an immediate response and came close through Khulumani Ndamane, whose header failed to find the target. Their persistence, however, was rewarded seven minutes before halftime when Kamogelo Sebelebele produced a composed finish from the edge of the penalty area to level the score.

Following the interval, TS Galaxy made a substitution, introducing Nhlanhla Mgaga in place of Mpho Mvelase, while Magesi opted to continue with the same eleven.

The hosts regained their lead in the 54th minute. Delano Abrahams rose highest to meet a corner from Vandala and powered a header into the net, restoring Magesi's advantage. Moments later, they nearly extended the lead as Sibanyoni's header struck the woodwork.

With momentum firmly on their side, Magesi continued to dominate possession and apply pressure in the final third. Vandala and Mokone remained constant threats, creating numerous opportunities as the second half progressed.

TS Galaxy pushed forward in search of an equalizer in the closing stages. Despite several chances falling to Victor Letsoalo and Sphiwe Mahlangu, the visitors were unable to convert. Their best opportunity came in stoppage time, when a header from Maduna struck the post.

Ultimately, Magesi FC held firm to claim all three points, solidifying their position in the league with a fourth successive victory and continuing their impressive run of form under Da Gama's leadership.
