Lamine Yamal magic earns praise from Luis de la Fuente after Spain victory

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente has praised Lamine Yamal after the winger produced another outstanding performance in their 4-1 victory over Croatia in the UEFA Nations League Group C clash on Tuesday.

Yamal was at the heart of Spain's impressive display, scoring twice and providing an assist before being substituted for Victor Munoz in the 68th minute.

The victory was Spain's second in the group after they opened their campaign with a 3-2 win over England at Wembley last weekend.

De la Fuente, who admitted that he prefers not to focus too much on individual performances, could not ignore Yamal's contribution against Croatia.

"I don't like to focus too much on individual performances, but sometimes it's impossible not to do so," De la Fuente said of Lamine Yamal following the match as quoted by BBC.

"Lamine wants to show the world the kind of player he is. Today (Tuesday) we enjoyed his magic again, but he puts his magic at the service of the team. That says a lot about the player. In the future he'll be even more well known for what he does in his collective play.

"We're lucky to have him with us. Within the group, he's very loved."

The result leaves the World Champions at the top of their group as they continue their pursuit of a second UEFA Nations League title.

Spain will return to action on Saturday when they host Czech Republic in Oviedo before travelling to face Croatia next Tuesday night.
