Konrad Laimer steps up as Bayern Munich battle through injury crisis

With Alphonso Davies still sidelined and Josip Stanisic also missing recent matches, Laimer has filled in across multiple positions, proving once again why he has become one of Bayern's most trusted players.

The 28-year-old Austrian, who joined Bayern from RB Leipzig in 2023, has earned a reputation for his tireless work rate and versatility. Whether deployed in midfield or as a makeshift full-back, Laimer has consistently delivered for the team.

Even when left out of the starting eleven or asked to play an unfamiliar role, Laimer's commitment has never wavered. "He bleeds for the badge," a Bayern insider said. "You can always rely on him to give everything."

Bayern are now entering a gruelling run of fixtures, starting with the highly anticipated Der Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena on 18 October.

Following that clash, Vincent Kompany's side face a packed schedule including Bundesliga encounters with Bayer Leverkusen on 1 November and SC Freiburg on 22 November, Champions League matches against Club Brugge on 22 October, Paris Saint-Germain on 4 November and Arsenal on 26 November, and a DFB-Pokal tie with FC Koln on 29 October.
