Kompany hungry for more success with Bayern Munich ahead of new season

The Bavarians completed their tenth edition of the summer tour in South Korean Island of Jeju and Hong Kong, defeating Jeju SK 2-1 before pipping Premier League side Aston Villa on Friday.

Head coach Vincent Kompany has shown optimism following the good results ahead of the 2026/27 campaign and is

"We're looking forward now and we have to do it all over again," said the Belgian mentor.

"Not in terms of the principles, but we have to have that feeling again that we're hungry and must show everything again. And we have that.

"The important thing now is everything's done right, so that we can already perform - in the Supercup and then in the Bundesliga, in Europe and in the cup. You need full focus for that. It can always be your best season - and that must be the mentality."

Bayern will turn their attention to the Telekom Cup fixture against RB Leipzig next Saturday before taking on rivals Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup.
