Knowledge Musona looking forward to emotional Kaizer Chiefs reunion

Musona rose to stardom at Amakhosi when he was just 19 years old before plying his trade in Germany, Belgium, and also Saudi Arabia, before returning to his native Zimbabwe to play for Scotland FC last year. 

The ZPSL champions will take on Chiefs in a friendly match next Sunday in Rustenburg, and Musona says the Phefeni Glamour Boys took a chance on him and made him who he is.

"Yeah it is going to be very emotional because you know Kaizer Chiefs made me the player that I am right now,” Musona said.

“From all the years that I have played outside in Europe because I had the chance to showcase my talent and I'm very grateful because they gave me the opportunity while I was still young. 

“I joined Chiefs when I was 19 and I left when I was 21, so they gave me the platform. Here I am back home at 35, 36, also still playing and I'm hoping it's going to be a great game for both teams and also seeing some former colleagues that I met when I was there. It's going to be a great opportunity."

Musona declared that he still has deep affection for Chiefs, and will always keep them in his heart. 

He revealed that he continued to follow their progress over the years while he was playing overseas.

"I still love Chiefs because I followed them even when I left to go to Europe. I was still following and they had some good seasons and they also had some seasons where they were down,” he added. 

“I've been following them and you know Chiefs are a big team. It's a great team and my love for Chiefs will never go away because like I said they gave me a platform. “They trusted me when I was a youngster, I've never played here in Zimbabwe and from the academy directly they gave me the opportunity to be one of the players to play for them. When I look back, I'm like, wow, it has been a journey."
