Khalil Ben Youssef refuses to get comfortable at Durban City

The former Kaizer Chiefs mentor is looking to bounce back after successive defeats – first against Sekhukhune United in the Betway Premiership, before Orlando Pirates ended their MTN8 campaign.

Ben Youssef admits he will not consider himself settled at the club until he sees tangible progress, with the early-season results already providing a reminder of the demands that come with his new role.

"We are always at risk, that is just part of our job. There is a set target and a certain number of points we have to achieve in the first fifteen games of the season and we will work and try our best to achieve that."

Ben Youssef added that the Citizens still need reinforcements.

"We will move forward when the team is 100% ready as three or four players still need to join us over the next two weeks. So when we have the full squad set and the physical levels are where they need to be, then we can judge the team properly."

Durban City fired two coaches during the previous campaign before Pitso Dladla took over in the interim for the rest of the campaign, ensuring a Nedbank Cup trophy and a top eight finish. Khalil concedes he is in a result-driven job as City prepare host KZN rivals Golden Arrows tomorrow night in the league.
