The England captain ended his long wait for silverware in 2024/25, lifting the Bundesliga and German Cup, and he has carried his form into the new campaign. Kane has already scored eight goals in his first five appearances across all competitions, helping Bayern claim the German Supercup against Stuttgart.
Speaking to BILD, Kane dismissed claims that the Bundesliga has become predictable. "I don't think it will be boring. And if it is, that's a compliment to us," he said. "Two years ago, people didn't say that when we didn't win the league.
"There's Dortmund, Leverkusen, Frankfurt, they'll challenge us. It's good to be at the top, I hope we can keep our foot on the gas."
Bayern's sporting director Max Eberl agreed that the biggest threat to their dominance comes from within. "We are our own biggest opponent. If we bring what we can onto the pitch, then it will be difficult to beat us," he said. Eberl added:
"We saw against Wiesbaden and Augsburg that if we do a little less, you always run the risk of losing. Dortmund, Leverkusen and Frankfurt are still to come, so there is no room for complacency."
Bayern are now shifting focus to Europe, where they will face Chelsea on Wednesday in their opening Champions League clash. The meeting will be a personal test for Kane, who had many battles with Chelsea during his time at Tottenham and will look to add to his growing reputation in Munich.
With domestic rivals eager to challenge and European ambitions high, Bayern are under pressure to deliver consistency across all competitions. As Eberl noted, "We want to play like we did against Leipzig, Hamburg, and in the Supercup, with intensity and quality."
