The Mambas navigated their way out of a daunting group featuring defending champions Ivory Coast, alongside Gabon and Cameroon, finishing as the highest-ranked third-placed side to book a spot in the knockout stages.
Speaking to SABC Sport, the Polokwane City star admitted the squad were under no illusions about the task ahead, knowing they would have to raise their level to compete with the tournament favourites.
"As an experienced player, I'm happy to be here and you have to thank God for that. The group stage was tough, but we followed the instructions from the coach and we got the results we wanted."
Mozambique lost to the title holders then shocked Gabon before losing against Cameroon, and Kambala reckons they need more self-belief.
The Mambas next face Nigeria in Fes, where they go into the clash as underdogs but Kambala is confident they will give it their all.
"All the games will be tough, but we have to trust ourselves and believe that we can win the next one. We know it won't be easy but we back ourselves."
