Jayden Adams ticking off bucket list items since Sundowns switch

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams says being on the verge of making a FIFA Club World Cup debut is further evidence as to why he agreed to join The Brazilians earlier this year.

Adams is part of the 26-man squad currently in America to face Ulsan HD, Borussia Dortmund, and Fluminense in Group F.

His move from Stellenbosch FC has already given him a Betway Premiership winners’ medal and very nearly a CAF Champions League one too after Sundowns finished runners-up to Pyramids FC.

Adams feels he is ticking off bucket list items at this stage in his career.

"The experience of this FIFA Club World Cup is slowly starting to sink in. The training facilities, the weather, and the people have all been excellent.

"The reason why I joined Mamelodi Sundowns was to represent a big club, but also to play big matches like Champions League finals and Club World Cup matches.

"We are very focused on this tournament, and we hope to showcase our talent to the world," explained the 24-year-old midfielder.

Ulsan are a closed book to Sundowns given that footage of the Korean outfit wasn’t readily available, but Adams reveals what they know about their first opponent awaiting them at the Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

"I think Ulsan are a good team, they defend really well, they've got a good counter-press, and they are a good ball-playing side too.

"It was a bit difficult for us to do our homework on them because we don't know them at all, but the preparation went well, the team is ready, and it should be a good challenge," said Adams in high spirits.

The 24-year-old is soaking it all in as his career trajectory continues to soar. Adams says he is also impressed with the standard of the Sundowns base in Florida.

"We are staying and training in a high-quality and professional set-up, but Florida is so hot, luckily, the boys are adjusting to the weather," said the industrious midfielder.

Adams concluded by adding that despite not knowing much about Ulsan, this will not deter them from playing their normal possession-based game.
